Summer in Colorado makes me smile because I just moved to Denver from Maryland to be closer to two of my children, their fmilies, and two granddaughters. My smile gets bigger each summer when I realize how low the humidity is in Colorado and I do not suffer like I have for so many years back east.

ReplyDeleteSummer makes me smile because I love all the outdoor activities summer allows and I do not ski. I also love the warm weather and love being able to see my grandchildren more frequently. Finally, I love summer because my dog loves to swim in the lake near our Vail home which, of course, is not possible in winter.

I like summer in Colorado because it is NOT the Mid-west, East, or South. We just got back from a week in Iowa, and are now fully reminded of why low humidity and almost no mosquitoes makes it a great time of year here.

And...it makes me smile to know, that when summer is over, the memories "will still" make me smile when I reminisce these things with friends. Looking forward towards the next time we share summer and the next smile!

ReplyDeleteSummer is the relaxation period of the year. Summer is a time for exercise and fun. Nothing compares to the vitamin D soaking in your skin or the sound of children playing down your street, the refreshing waters of the lakes and pools, the nights built for star-gazing and the overall positive attitude of all people. Summer means it's time to go barefoot and chase the ice cream man, it's a time to fall in love and a time to enjoy the little things in life too. It is simple. it's hard not to think of reasons to smile when thinking about summer. Summer is what we look forward to for the rest of the year.

ReplyDeleteSummer makes me smile for so many reasons... the whirr of the fan lulling me to sleep at night, not having to bundle up before walking out the door, and everyone just seems happier. I also love the spontaneity; both road trips and iced coffee outings are a spur-of-the-moment occurance. Also, being a student, I can stay up half the night watching Law & Order without hating myself for it in the morning! :)
